On Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, our community came together to address various aspects of the opioid crisis in northeast Indiana, including the scope of the problem, how addiction starts, treatment, and showcasing addiction recovery is possible. The local Fort Wayne PBS39 television station featured an hour-long special, ‘Finding the Fix’, followed by a live call-in show titled, ‘The Opioid Crisis: Healing our Community with Hope’.
Producing this educational event really did take a village: 14 guest panelists, 9 phone bank volunteers, 4 program hosts, 40+ individuals watching in the viewing room, and 15 people behind the scenes making it all look seamless!
