This is the 25th anniversary of World Mental Health Day. The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) is an international membership organization founded in 1948 to advance, among all peoples and nations, the prevention of mental and emotional disorders, the proper treatment and care of those with such disorders, and the promotion of mental health.
This year’s theme is “Mental Health in the Workplace” and addresses the value of promoting well-being in work settings of all kinds. Mental health is often neglected as a key aspect of employees’ overall health, yet the World Health Organizations points out that depression is leading the list of causes of illness and disability worldwide.
WFMH released a wonderful free resource on this topic including what we can do to create better mental health in the workplace. Read it here.
